Tariq is a recent addition to the Camarilla when the Banu Haqim left the Assamite clan. He's seems to be loyal to the Sect and has been seen protecting others from harm. He claims that he is a historian. Those with a good deal of knowledge of the times during the Anarch Revolt that his name comes up in a number of battles.

Prince Carslyle announced on the 6th of August that the Banu Haqim would have a seat on the Primogen Council. Tariq stepped into the position, making the cities first Assamite primogen.

He's been overheard talking about the abilities of the Lasombra and it's elders.

Recently, after the Bloodhunt of Donovan Cambridge was announced, Tariq and fellow Banu Haqim member Mahir helped to destroy the elder Malkavian after being confirmed to be the Karma Killer and to have close ties to the Sabbat.

Rumors

The Banu Haqim are really spies for the Assamite clan in order to take out key individuals in the Camarilla.
Tariq is really an assassin disguised as a scholar.
The Banu Haqim and Tariq are responsible for the death of Prince Fine, making it look like the Sabbat are responsible.
He's been seen speaking to the Prince directly. Some say the Prince has him on retainer.
He is responsible for the death of an elder Prince centuries ago. The family of this prince has offered a boon for proof of demise.
Some say he helped the Lasombra kill their clan founder. Others say it was just a powerful elder.
Was contracted by the prince to kill Donovan Cambridge
